Dr. Tuckson highlighted our responsibility in helping to quell the pandemic: Stay indoors as much as possible, wear masks and maintain physical distance; do everything in our individual power to stop the spread of the virus.

We heard some results of the Labor Town Hall, which included testimonies from many individuals who make tough decisions every day about their own and their family’s welfare while working essential jobs. (Check back for link.)

BCAC’s “Poetry Slam” and “iMask4DC” film contest allowed DC residents of all ages to share important outreach messages. PSAs are being produced from their moving entries. Visit BCAC website for videos, interviews, and more.

In addition, Dr. Tuckson and Rev. T. Anthony Spearman, of the NC NAACP, discussed the needs of prisoners and returning citizens in regard to PPE (personal protective equipment), safe space for distancing, and many other basic human needs.
