In the first segment: The Peoples Demands DC, how they were gathered, organizing going forward, and overlap with advocacy for FY21 budget with Chynnah McFadden, Qaadir El-Amin, Brittney Washington, and Pranav Nanda. This segment cited many organizations long engaged in work related to The Peoples Demands and newly forming coalitions. A partial listing is below.
In the second segment: current status of DC schools, families, and teachers and ReOpen DC planning and concerns with Liz Davis, president of the Washington Teachers Union, Cathy Reilly of Senior High Alliance of Parents Principals and Educators (SHAPPE), and Eboni Rose Thompson, chair of the Ward 7 Education Council — all of whom participated in the ReOpen DC planning process.
