Maurice Cook, executive director of Serve Your City DC and leader in Ward 6 Mutual Aid Network (MAN), joins Community Under Covid for our inaugural program. We discuss

• the MAN model,
• how the District is supporting and not (yet) supporting the effort,
• how individuals can participate, and
• the long-existing systems of oppression MANs work to address.

We touch on the idea of viewing the Exodus story as the tale of the largest ever MAN, a concept picked up from SVARA: The Traditionally Radical Yeshiva’s online (free, open, queer-centered) Mishnah Collective.
